More in Old Poetry from DMV Contradictions in love’s afflictionsLong days once shaded by hollow lies
Alone on the aged crumbled front porch Bitter tears drip with confessions cries Slack fingers release the frozen torch Beyond the landscaped fa347ade of truth Fabric torn, stitched with unskilled hands Seep insidious into unsuspecting youth Unable to forfeit the inevitable demands Fear begins the deed and then remains Daylight fades to vacant empty stares Link by broken link becomes the chains Until naught is left but tattered wares Tired hands continuous in their rounds Cessation of pain plays and then rewinds The black words unspoken resounds the morning light heartlessly reminds |
