Shakespeare's Monkeys

Infinite Monkeys. Infinite Typewriters.

More in Old Poetry from DMV

Doughnuts Protest the Meaning of life

Cathedral bells chime three and one quarter times
Before they stop
Protest their existential rights
To ring only once or not at all
or sing soprano instead

Three and one quarter fat salted tears
Splash onto the pristine ceramic tiles
Realization the last doughnut
Is stale
The glaze flaking
Onto my red plaid shirt
And the fabric of life
