Never Kiss a Frog

Where is the prince I expected?
When I gave that frog a kiss
How can I feel so rejected?
I'm almost positive I didn't miss

When I gave that frog a kiss
Maybe if I hadn't closed my eyes
I'm almost positive I didn't miss
I still smell a faint aroma of flies

Maybe if I hadn't closed my eyes
I'd be basking happily in my tower
I still smell a faint aroma of flies
Here I sit wilted like a flower

I'd be basking happily in my tower
If only I hadn't believed those tales
Here I sit wilted like a flower
In comparison reality certainly pales

If only I hadn't believed those tales
I'd have looked for love another way
In comparison reality certainly pales
For all things we will inevitably pay

I'd have looked for love another way
How can I feel so rejected?
For all things we will inevitably pay
Where is the prince I expected?
