Rte 28

Rte 28 was not always lined with all those shops
it used to just be that small stretch in hooksett
with the Hawaiin Dragon and the Brick House Restaurants
and Green's Marina.

Further down was Buy Wise grocery store and Leon's Diner.

besides that for the 50 miles we drove
there was almost nothing
but black eyed suzies
and daisies

which it seemed like we had to stop and pick every week
because they looked so nice on the table.

they're all gone now
just like you

and i'm still here
wondering why we lost all that for a mcdonalds
or ten.
