so this is how it is
when i let you down

forgiveness

helper monkeys
laughing but less loved
than me.

so this is how you are
when I leave you
for dreams and darkness

forgiveness

zebra racing across the savannah
keeping the beat of our hearts
as we dance

so this is how i am
when we are apart
scared
sick

alone.
