on cool dry cracked asphault
then flies to the sun

back against an old lamp post
his sneeze is loud

a rat chews hamburger roll
lots of ketchup

one soggy condom
lays beside the dry gutter
noontime sun spotlights

a hyperdermic
in the trash the homeless search
no food.

all yesterday's news
unattended on park bench
when the wind picks up

a Harvard Student
smiles while feeding old junkies
pusher waits a bit

bare feet in brown grass
almost blue from the still chill
the frisbee sails off

the little boy starts to cry
