Parting the Veil

Plures Mens

I am living
Like a ghost
This is really
Not my life
It gave me up
It got tired
Of being bored

Where did I go wrong
I never cared for it before
I just needed
To remember to ignore

I no longer
Have a dream
But that’s alright
The vision burnt out
I give you words
You drink in blood
It’s all the same in the end

Where did I go wrong
I never cared for me before
I just walked
On out the door

Nobody
Knows my ghost
It’s locked tight
It chitters at night
Drinking in your lies
Eating your spore

Where did I go wrong
You needed me no more
You just walked
Out my door

Now my ghost
It wants to breathe
And it’s asking me to leave
I don’t think I’ll even grieve
So I open up the door

Where did he go wrong
When he wanted so much more
All he ever needed

He regrets no more
