Oculus Contactus

For a little while

I was calm

No fear
No trepidation

Only her eyes

Clichés abound

Suffice to say

They had my undivided attention

I can’t remember her name
Never got her number

We spoke for but 15 minutes

Conversation full of wit
Sarcasm
And mutual respect

Then it was over

She went back inside

I got another drink
Couldn’t find her

Then left

A day has passed
I try to ignore the thought

Yet still

Those eyes
