i watched you with the lighter fluid
making a bit circle around yourself

then with a large grimace
carefully measuring out
five points on the circle
with the one on the east side
on top.

in a sing-song voice
you praised demons and devils
and offered a nice blessing for your grandmother

then you lit a match
exploded into flame
and laid down to die
right in the middle of your pretty design
