YWH Constituo

Orchidaceous Desposyni

Long I have searched
Poring over tomes
Learning
Learning The Way
Finding many Ways
The gods of the east
Of the Americas
Olympus beckoned
The god of Imam
Mullah and Pope
Teased me

Reason told me to learn
To understand these gods
These manifold creators
Of man
Of the All

Reason led me to truth
All was false

Oh
The teachings
The way one should live
How to treat others
These
Mostly
Were good

No

It was the gods themselves

Convinced of the veracity
The strength of my reason
I gave up my search

Today

Aaaah today however

There he was
Plain as day
YWH
Sitting comfortably in the foyer

Thanking himself
He addressed me
“Finally, you arrive”

“Er…..yes”

“You’ve been quite busy,
seems the faithful don’t like you much”

“Well, who likes the um….the ....er….the truth?
Seems I was wrong”

“Bollocks!
You are spot on!”

I sought an explanation
As you can well imagine

“Some Pharaoh dreamt me up.
Changed his name to Moses I believe.
Even pinched my name from the Canaanites.
I’ve been stuck here ever since.”

I pondered the concept
Really
Such a long lived imaginary friend

“How did you manage to exist?
After this Moses died I mean”

“Seems the whole bloody family,
his entourage and all,
decided to believe in me!”

“So……”, I said

“So…….. Oh,
I suppose I should prove this.”

Indeed he should

“Well…
Take the staircase to the third floor,
Turn the key and slowly unlock the door…”

“Let me guess,
A man breathes into his saxophone
And through the walls you hear the city groan?”

“What did you expect?
I’m not real am I.
Besides,
Can’t get that song out of my head.
Bloody U2!”

“So….this proof?”

“Oh yes,
look in that mirror over there.
What do you see?”

“Just the room and me”

“Precisely”

Reason told me one thing
In relation to finding God

Use your delusion
