Atrum Astrum

Profano Mortuus

Darkness falls
With the sun at high noon
A subtle howl
Permeates the air
As a weak breeze
Meanders its way
Through derelict buildings
Maggots breathe
Faux life
Into rotting flesh
Whilst the moon
Stares down the sun
Now a distant light
Drifting beyond Neptune
The victim of catholic wrath
Pulled from the safety of the centre
By a rogue
Dark star
Illumined only by
The fires of Venus
Her skies ignited
As the sun was tugged from orbit

I watch all this
Drifting in my tin can
Knowing my air will soon fade

I watch

In solitude

In rapture
