Crystal-Meth and Discordant Rhymes

Evagalia

You came to me one summer
A dull glaze in your eyes
I didn’t need the scars on your wrists
To know you’d thought of suicide

You didn’t need a lover
What you needed was respite
But I couldn’t help the feelings
Lurking deep inside

You sang to me of crystal-meth
While I wrote discordant rhymes
We thought we’d made a haven
It passed in a short time

My punk rockin’ baby
You know she didn’t see the light
Found another man instead
One who didn’t write

I wonder what she’s doing now
Does she think of me at all
Or has she climbed the tower
Just so she could fall

She’s still my crystal-meth
I wish she was still mine
Guess I’ll have to settle for less
These discordant rhymes
