Animus

Orchidaceous Desposyni

All my life
I’ve been looking for something
Never realised
I was looking for me

All my life
Couldn’t find a home
There it was
Buried in these poems

Life
Is such a lonely place
You can see it written in my face
Wearing me down

All my life
Is a school of lies
Just another beast
Made ready for dying

All my life
Wouldn’t play their games
In the end though
We’re all the same

Life
Is just a dying race
Tries to put me in my place
Staring it down

Life
Is just an open sore
Death awaits through every door
I’m breaking them down

All my life
I was waiting for silence
But I know it’ll never come
So I go on
On to the next life
Where I’ll settle back
Laugh at the world

Life
Is just a bloody waste
No real gods
To give it grace
I’m wearing it down
