So I will give it to you

I offer you a gilded cage
Providing that which you ask
Millennia of enforced tranquillity
You will of course bore
That is my gift to you
Humans balk at sameness
Through the pressure of peace
I will breed you
Strengthening the species

When I pass
You will scatter
Driven to the brink
Your survival now a given

Humanity will never settle again
Not for such comforts

With my passing will come Kralizec
The typhoon struggle
Violence and depredations unheard of

You will survive
If you realise
That what you want
Is not what you need
