Fallow

Temptatio Atrum

Don’t know where I came from
But I do recall this song
About a thirsty place
And a throat to dry to swallow

You lie tangled in my arms
I’m trapped between your thighs
Like a prescription drug
I keep you warm at night
Relief I only borrow

Short of breath
With blood shot eyes
All truth you would deny
Then at the end of night
It’s time to go
You won’t reveal tomorrow

In these arms you would explode
If you’d only ease my load
You know I’m just a man
Though some would argue callow

Sheathed in lead
I’m melting iron
Still you call me unkind
I turn your tears to wine
I’m just nowhere man
That no one wants to follow

Take a look
See what I see
No future here for me
Never was your lover man
Well like a fatal wound
I’ll heal some others sorrow
