Shakespeare's Monkeys

Infinite Monkeys. Infinite Typewriters.

More in The Poetry of Rygar

pity and pain

Fading memories,

The mind forgets,

The heart remembers,

Full of regrets.

It has ended,

And it stings,

Felt the love,

And the pain it brings.

Shutting down

Both heart and mind,

The love we had,

Was hard to find.

You moved on,

To someone new,

But the love I have,

Is just for you.

I pledged to you,

My love and soul,

What’s in my chest,

Is just a hole.

Where love once lived,

In happier days,

When you were my sun,

And I danced in your rays.

The dance is now done,

And the sun has set,

I paid with my heart,

And settled our debt.

In time you’ll see,

What you’ve lost,

My heart will be dead,

As cold as the frost.

And you will have missed,

A love that was true,

And for that my dear,

I pity you.
