Shakespeare's Monkeys

Infinite Monkeys. Infinite Typewriters.

More in The Poetry of Rygar

careless use of words

You started this, not me.

You lured me in and took my soul.

And just as quickly, you went away.

Now the sight of me makes you tense.

I can no longer come and go as I please.

Even though you said you would never say no.

You say we are friends…

But act like we don’t know each other.

When in fact, we know each other better then

Anyone ever has.

How could you do this to me?

How can you be so cold?

So uncaring.

How is our love so easily discarded?

You promised me eternity,

But delivered only pain.

I hope you are proud of yourself.

It must make you feel so good,

To know that you have this power.

My world rises and sets on your word.

And now it seems it has set forever.

You have no idea what love is,

Or how to be loved.

You throw that word around with out care,

And I’m the one who has suffered for it.
