More in sinnaminsun: 2009 Poems

~Night Light~

In blackest pitch I gathered
old memories to stitch,
Blanketing tomorrow
within a five year itch.

Winter chills lay freezing
on frosted dreams endowed,
Waking from the dawn's peek
 light becomes one's shroud.

So gather up your darkness
then remind me not to care,
When twilight seeks surrender
and night's not yet aware.

Hold close to silence
strolling through idle time,
Stars hang in mourning,
Grant wishes...None I find.

Now darkness covets calmly
under a severed moon,
And casting through my garden
all light in night consume.

Hi Colleen, thanks for the feedback.  I need to work on the other stanzas, especially the last one.
