I was convinced
Enraptured
Captivated

By the Church

Sinning wilfully

Sure in the knowledge
That all would be absolved

I need only repent

Time

Time and evidence

As I searched
Struggling to comprehend evil

The years whipped by

The enemy of my faith
Slowly revealed itself
Both in the world
And in the pages of history

I read

Studied

Absorbed

The name of Evil
The daemon at fault
That spurious deity
Great destroyer of life
Whose every thought was for war

His name
