Thoughts Intruding Whilst Writing an Earlier Poem

Look at me
A dirty old man

Dreaming of love lost

Of love unattainable

How
You must wonder
Can I resolve myself

Truthfully

I cannot

Ever have I had one foot in reality
One in my mind

Now

Now I struggle
To separate them

Is it the dream I miss
Or the dream I long for

I know not
Nor do I care

I only know this

That somehow

Despite my life

I still love
I love each differently
For they are different women

Is my love appropriate
That I cannot answer

Only my loved can tell me that
