Missing a dear friend

Dr. Seuss, can't you tell I miss you so,
I know, I know, you had places to go
but the world's not spinning fast as it should
since you went away and took all your good
You monster, you bumble, you vernoxious cad,
you left without me, and now I feel bad
please come back and we'll sit my old friend
we'll sit and we'll sit and remember back when
the crazy cats wore hats and the wacked lorax stewed
you were alive and I still said "Dude!'

Sometimes, I forget, I forget you've moved on
I look at your drawings and nothing is wrong
those days when I lived on mulberry street
the werble of wunyans and Dad's stinky feet
but then I remember, and Horton grows blurry
the whos and the schmoos and my eyes all get furry
the tears fall like bongos and then I just sigh
Dear Dr. Seuss, why did you die?
I meant what I said, I said what I meant,
I hope when I go, I go right where you went
