Kill Me!

Kill Me!

To Michael

Take me in your arms,

the way you do,

then

kill me for the last time -

quickly!

Your breath – a lascivious vapor

steaming at my neck;

you have swallowed my lips,

you cannot be exhaled.

Your eyes – blue vessels

sink my hazy days.

By night, I dream with you in dreams.

They consume me in bed.

You sang in paradise,

now, earthbound life has veered

into a dance of death.

Kill me!

Don’t let me look back

and pretend you don’t exist.

I really love this, especially the last stanza

-----
Life is what happens while you wait for great things.
