The Way to Gesthemane

On a steed of white
I enter your world
A cloak of shadows
Blinding you with its brilliance
Through reed sea
Parted by my will
Taking you to Midia
So full of promise
Your heart chokes
Tears well up
Bloody and relieved
All tribulations made worthy
As I sacrifice myself
Upon the alter of you

As ever

An eternity passes
You grow complacent
With your saviour
Bound to you as no other
Reliant on your worship
A balm for his solitude
His Eden

And so it comes to pass

This deity falls
A trail of shattered idols in his wake
Torn up as so many pages
Pages of prayer
Prayers to his chosen

Now left

Now broken
