I read today that B.F. Skinner suspected "superstition" (defined by Skinner) played a role in human behavior. He even conducted a series of studies using Hungarian pigeons. The data supported his hypothesis but Chomsky wrote a vicious criticism, arguing that Skinner's study could be the first domino in a movement towards American totalitarianism. I don't know, that just blew me away: a)reading about the study; b)the depths of Chomsky's elitist agenda. Ideologically speaking, I'm a staunch moderate. Radicals have their place, but it's not America, 2009. What's the difference between a socialist and a fascist? - Nothing. Just the name they happen to call home.

I was fired from my job on Monday, a first for me. Never been let go before. And to make matters worse, I started gambling again - this after a long, healthy hiatus. I've been considering a quintessential bad idea: taking my last check ($2,000) to Vegas. Or Reno. I've never been to Reno but I hear it's gruesome. Sounds perfect.
