Aqua

Girl of Hept

She slips under
Slowly
Settles to the bottom
Of my lake
Her eyes hear all I say
As she watches
My life
It drifts away
Well I am not
The frozen tundra
Nor the cratered moon
I am her silence
The stars that walk with her
Are the darkness
I give to her
When she needs some light
I will understand
For if she prays
I will be her god
If she dies
I will be her corpse
For I’m the man
That drowns her eyes
With words of love and hate
No one knows just what I say
Or why I am not dead
She is clear
On why I am in free fall
She is near
So I never have to crawl
She held a box
In my lake
It was filled with me
I see her now
She’s opened it
She reads of hell
It isn’t too much
For without it
She still saw me
I’m standing here
Looking on
A stranger to this life
No settled mind could ponder
How everything I wanted
Was what would stay my hand
No matter what you offer
She’s the one that helped
I sit upon her ocean
As she settles in my lake
We study words emoting
In coldness I will hate
For it’s time to see
The one inside that isn’t me
No matter how I bleed
Always something here
Not of me
No easy pleasure
No selfless desire for me
Now
We drown in silence
Kick the wave
See what we see
She
Drowns my silence
I’m still living it seems
