More in Descent to Embers

Birthday Psalm

The sky is endless like my hope
for you, my most merciful God,

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good:
for his mercy endureth for ever

I hear the eternal song of angels
a cloudless refrain of perfect truth

I sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
Bound by affliction & steel

in my thoughts, in my word,
in my deeds, in all that I am

I cry out to the LORD in my trouble,
and he saves me from distress.

I confess that I have sinned
against you but I wish that it were not so

He makes the storm a calm,
so that the waves are still.

by what I have done,
by what I have left undone.

Though I am wicked
He forgives

I have not loved you with my whole heart;
nor my neighbors as myself.

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good:
for his mercy endureth for ever

These are the lyrics I sing to you
Oh My God. My God.
This is my hymn of repentence

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good:
for his mercy endureth for ever

For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on me and forgive me;
that I may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.
