Afterbirth

Girl of Hept

Once I killed the silence
Gripped it by the throat
Watched me fall to pieces
Felt me drift away
Found myself crying in your arms
Wreath upon my features
My facades all disarmed
By the voice that you gave

Bathing in salvation
Laughing at the pain
Forgetting to hide myself
Deep in your arms I die
I’ll not swear to die for you
Blood it ebbs away
Deified hatred
Pleasurably insane

Have I failed enough
Soaked up the drugs
Halo at my feet
Tired and worn
I laugh at it in scorn
In your arms
I feeling strong
Self-forsaken
Now it’s too late
We can do no wrong
