Don't panic, it's just moved to the right-hand side.
In the near future, the change and online users are going to be much more clear. (along the lines of the facebook chat) Working on it!

I upgraded the site again. You might notice that the little line of 'edit page' 'watch' 'add image' and such is MISSING!!!
Don't panic, it's just moved to the right-hand side. In the near future, the change and online users are going to be much more clear. (along the lines of the facebook chat) Working on it! Fondly stephan SlowdownMy apologies for the slowdown.

Small Press Fair at Mass Poetry FestivalCome meet Paradiso, Tracey, Anstey Ellen, Colleen Sperry ,Jasmine Mann,Laurie Blum,Joe R and Stephan Anstey! As part of the Mass Poetry Festival there will be a FREE small press fair. Come talk to DOZENS of publishers of magazines, and small presses. This is your opportunity to meet them face to face and talk about how you can be published.
If you're going to be there, let me know. I'll make sure I'm around to talk with you. You can visit the festival site for more information! Temporary New LookWell, folks, I've upgraded the site. Things seem to be a bit slow, so I'm working on that.
There is also a new private chat feature. It's a bit burried, but folks on-line on the site can now chat through the site. I found it a bit bulky and slow, but it does work. It can't be anything but good for the site. If you go to a user profile and click 'contact' it's in there. Oh, and you can invite others to join and have 3-4-6 way chats if you'd like. I think you can also use it to co-browse and collaborate on pages as well. I'm not sure though, I Haven't tested it that extensively. The only reason for the new look is that the old template breaks the new site. Love, stephan The Latest issue, The Next Issue, The Contest, and a few other thingsContest ~ Shakespeare's Monkey Revue ~ Simian Award ~ Site News ~ Lots of stuff going down, and where are you?
Well, there is a lot to talk about people, so why don't i start the conversation and you jump in as needed. First of all, the latest issue is out. If every member bought just one copy, i would break even! So there's the challenge. Find it in your heart to buy a single copy of the magazine. Support poetry. Support writing. Support the arts. Put your money where your mouth is, and your pen wants to be! I know it's a lot to ask, but if you believe in this like i do, help me publish people who might not otherwise get the chance. Second of all, support our advertisers. Fundsforwriters.com , Loom Press , Sperry Software and Bootstrap Productions . Each of them are tremendous supporters of the arts, poetry and writers in general. By buying their products, and supporting them, you're helping artists all over the world get a chance to share their work. Next, the contest is going on right now! So far, It hasn't quite paid for itself, and that's ok, i guess. I certainly don't mind writing the checks to support the wonderful poets who've won, and then publishing them in the magazine. However, there's a greater goal here, that i hope you can all embrace -- every entry that goes beyond paying out on the prize, helps support both this site and the magazine. The goal is to pay everyone that is published in the magazine with the proceeds from the contest. If you believe in paying people for their work, then please encourage your friends to enter, and enter yourself. Last but not least, for now, i want to thank you for all the ways you support me. The site, the magazine, and the wonderful little notes and pats on the back. It is greatly appreciated and makes it all worth while.
The Third Simian Contest is closed! The entries are being prepared right now for the judges.
Later this week, they will receive their top-secret package containing all the entries and will take a fwe days to pore over them to determine the winner. As soon as I know, I will notify the winner, then announce to the world! The Winner of the First Simian Award of 2007It is with great pride and pleasure that I announce the winner of the first Shakespeare’s Monkey Simian Award of 2007: Amanda Baker takes the prize for her poem, “For the Sake of Sounding.”
As winner of the contest Amanda Baker receives $100, publication in the debut issue of Shakespeare's Monkeys Revue, and qualification for Shakespeare's Monkey’s $100 prize for best poem of the year in December. Honorable Mention goes to Carol Lucas for her poem “Number 14.” I would also like to commend all the contestants for the high quality of work submitted, allowing this to be a great success. Too Much News to Type at 2amOk, well, I've been workign the last couple of hours to fix the email problem. We're not there yet, but we're making progress.
Many of you probably noticed a ton of emails from the site tonight. That is all old stuff that was waiting for you. As the weekend goes on hopefully the problem will be fixed. In the meantime there'll be no more email floods. In other news.. Well, geez, there's too much to go into it all. Let's just say. Contest. Magazine. Big changes. Tracey. Julie. Leanne. Alcuin. Derma. Laurie. Rockin! Site, getting better. Changings coming to look. Um. Ok. I'll say more tomorrow tonight, I'll say. yawn. Tracey Paradiso Turns 23Everyone stay calm, Tracey Paradiso has turned 23 today. Yes, I know, you're wondering how she could be so old. Well, I will tell you - She kept breathing.
On behalf of the site and the magazine and all the little monkeys out there in the Amazon jungle hanging from their prehensile tails, I'd like to wish the beloved old-coot a happy birthday.
Two big bits of newsHey folks,
The first bit of news is that i upgraded the server. So you should notice some speed improvement and emails from the site should work. Apologies for the weirdness as I moved the domain around. ![]() The second bit of news is, I asked a friend of mine to help me with some skins. (new designs) Her name is Alba, say hi if you see her. She's a mom and graphic designer from Costa Rica. Key fact: Julie is still around, but she's been a bit busy. So, hopefully we'll see some designs from her in the future as well. The idea being, of course, that more is better. ![]() |
