Note: Comment Aggression

<< Previous Next >>

I've no wish to be rude, but if you know that someone doesn't "know you well enough" to have anything but the poem at hand by which to judge your standard of work, then maybe you're being rather unfair since you do admit it was not a good poem. I believe I recall the comment you're referring to, and also know the commenter well enough to know that his comments are never meant as personal attacks but rather are directed specifically to the poem. May I also suggest that it is possible you know too little about the commenter to assume that his words were meant in a rude and aggressive fashion.

We all disagree with comments from time to time. We also all write bad poems from time to time. I consider it a favour if commenters are honest enough to point out to me which of my poems are worth bothering to edit, and which are clearly bound for deletion, never to be spoken of again. Fortunately, with honest and informed critique, the deletions are fewer now

Of course, freedom of speech ensures that you are allowed to vent your frustration, and in the interest of open communication it is good that you do so.
