Discuss: Placing the blame into the right category

Hate me because I’m beautiful Or because I can burn the garlic bread Better then anyone Until the flames Are reflected in the green flecks Of each of my perfect eyes

Hate me because I’m brilliant Or because I ate the last slice Of decadent chocolate cheesecake With a buttery graham crust And the crumbs have fallen Onto my sparkling floor

Don’t hate me because I just happened To love him first

Ah, new rules by which to play the envy game, eh? I like the way you approach this topic head on listing all kinds of things the person being addressed should and could be jealous about. It turns the situation inside-out, underlies the speaker's confidence,  and sets the reader up in a perspective that makes the last stanza a real BLAM hit.

A thought provoking poem from an original point of view.
