Discuss: Kiss a Memory (Revised)

This is a revision of an older poem. I like the original, but I thought this might lend itself to a song lyric. I am not sure if the revisons enhance or detract from the original

It's difficult for me to assess this as lyric. I have read the lyrics of songs I liked and found that as plain written poetry, most of them suck. The Dixie Chicks songs are an example. Absent the music, their lyrics don't read well. Add the music, and voila! The Beatle's could create lyrics that satisfied both the poet and the song-fan, but they are an exception.

As poetry, the original is clunky. S3, for instance has 3 lines of 3 beats, and a 4th line with 4 beats. Yet set to music, it might sound great. I do wonder how the word, ‘schizophrenic' works to music.
