What makes a poem good?

Ah yes...now I remember why I bow down to Leanne. She has designated the criteria of good poetry not in terms of an "is" but of a "does". Of course, this leaves a bit of subjectivity in it - obviously, many of the semi-literates who read a book every year or two would not be moved by great poetry. So I would add that the judgement of a piece should be made only after people with a decent familiarity with writing or reading have had a chance to consider it according to her criteria.
