So frigid, so apposite...I like the approach, everything passive, every scene depopulated, not a personal pronoun in sight. Also (despite) the 'belief' in winter passages, and the pragmatism that implies, a 'secular' approach to this forbidding environment. (I read 'myth' for belief here, as beliefs are commonly acted upon - a nice touch). The poem itself is the anecdotal 'record' kept of (non) events, the abruptness in description matching perfectly the inclemency icing this poetic cake
