your thoughts are like screeching monkeys
bold, loud, and completely unintelligible.

I love the rub of their soft belly fur against my face
the desperate truth of bananas in my hand, desired

But it is the fear of their teeth that stays me 
by this rocky outcropping on the edge of the grass
 
I watch them dance upon the barrel of the baobab
below the unruly tufts of branches without reason

The bright dark buckets, eyelids of  bliss, carry no knowledge  
only the warm wet primal voice of freedom

carry me quickly from this hot sun and reject my notions
i do not care who you are. I trust no one.

I watch, scarred, blind to your thoughts.
