The Yonder Hills (for GJ)

If only here again, old hand,

without the cars and jobs and wives;

back to where the sky meets land;

back to starting out our lives.

Let blackthorn pierce, let clouds reveal

the yonder hills of high Lisneal

Och away, come on away,

for timeless hills and ancient lanes

abide when nothing else will stay:

here's fields and farms and slanting rains;

here's wine-like air to drink and heal

from yonder hills of high Lisneal.

Ardlough, Fincairn, old Kilfennan,

the sun-lit river's bright forever:

did we but know we breathed a heaven

before the knives of time would sever.

If only here when years conceal

the yonder hills of high Lisneal.

Love no longer holds its edge,
With sledge hammers crushing blow,
Dulls the blade of this mans heart,
And me, forever on my own.

Realizing that our love is gone,
Replaced by hate, I say ENOUGH!
I can’t abide your treachery.
I may be strong but love is rough.

The road on high will be my path
I wont play this woeful game ... more

Tortured, tormented and in pain,
My capacity to love supersedes all I do,
My heart has been buried under the compost.

Burned, chastised and forgotten,
Healing with time is foreign to me,
I’m lost among the stinging leaves and thorns.

Abused, beaten and left to rot,
I satiate some sick desire to be rejected,
Decaying vegetation mirrors my state of mind.

Could go on and on through to forever.

Belief in my love is lacking of late,

faint of wind and song
Harness my moon over.

Heed the ground
absent of all shadow and light,
Laying barren under
a steely sky in June.

Appears, your whispered rush
Alighting...igniting me now.
Curving contentment moves,
Bringing your warm release
of day.

In the wild and untamed wood,
Where nymphs play, as nymphs should,
And sprites joyously greet the night,
And dance in merriment and delight.

Fantastic scenes play out as dreams,
Serenely draped in white moonbeams,
Elves traverse this wondrous place,
Themselves lost in earths embrace.

Pixies flitter about without care,
Their songs carried on the night’s air,
Centaurs trot along wooded paths, ... more

My words seem to come from places uncertain
Tried to convey the man behind the curtain,
For once, the unexplained brain was displayed,
But the inner musings inside should have stayed.

The callus develops when interest is nil,
At moments of honesty, even I wish to spill,
The understanding of most comprehend me the least,
Foreshadowing the lonely realm of this beast.

Frustration.
A well of ire
swelled beyond reason.
This treason I visit
On myself.
For reasons I can’t explain
There is rage.
Like a caged man
I sit and wait.
Even though the gate is open
I cannot leave.
I choose to believe
I have control
Over my anger.
Though its painfully obvious
even to me
that you can’t tame
the untamable.
So I impatiently wait
For the patience
To wait this out.

Tears of an angel streaming from a devils face,
I’m out of place; my main goal is to stay in this space.
The things I trace followed by the lines in my face,
Misplaced affection only ends in disgrace.

Every tear that is shed from the demon within,
Feeling fear, feeling dread, I’m scared in my skin,
This year has been hell, fed from the hole that I’m in,
Disappear, and yell at the depth of my sin. ... more

I sat there…
Right in front of you.
Reading the words
That were created just for you.
My love for you overflowing,
Spilling on to the paper,
In the form of salty rain.
My pain evidenced by my shaky hand
And trembling voice.
And there you sat,
Seemingly unmoved
By the emotional display
Unfolding before you.
I collapsed in your lap,
Sobbing uncontrollably … ... more

The succubus came with a smile
And a sweet word on her lips
But plotting she was all the while
And luring me in with her hips.
She told me that I was special
She said as she lied to my face
And that there could be no other
Until another has taken my place.
And now I am left here alone
Pondering that which went wrong
Unforeseen forces unknown
For the love that I knew is now gone.
