SOMNOLENT

White sheet,
My precarious protection…..
I draw you around me.
I sit within your chalky white ring
As your numbness is my allowance
For emotions that are thoroughly spent.

My alleviation, from crushing thoughts
That trouble me in this crumbling sleep.
But you will be diminished and washed away
With the tide of time
And so, I watch for them….. ... more

Revision 9/7/08
No longer green, today the jade

spreads faded suppositions through

a future mewling extra cream

in streams that once knew lemonade.
One yes and then the nos rush in,

a dynasty bred just for height,

a kite with tails of docking line

as finest China coats the skin.
He seeks, he seeds, he smooths his way;

decay is dancing on his string,

a tincture bleeding salt and oil

to spoil the surface of the clay.
But wheels will turn, though weary feet

don't meet the ground the way they should --

we stood where God was greener still

and willows bent beneath the heat. ... more

disengage

Jean Luc’s musings as he flees

Murderous Romulans and wrestles

With a heroin addiction

Ah me…

Star date, star date

May the sweet and nebulicious

Grace my plate…

Chaos theory…

Where was I?

My crew has been

Slaughtered in a multi

Ethnic cleansing as

I dawdle like a salted snail

Deliberating the meaning

Of a word

“We must discuss

the issues and

self-defense

be damned,

ye piss ants!”

Is it…

Warm in here?

Pardon me

This sweet candy

Has engaged

My naked pate-

The worms in

My skull

Say ‘yeah!’

Death…I say

May the impotent

Burn in a hell

Hotter than

Thirty-five years

Of deferred

Vulcan sex…

Death to damnable

Romulans, communists

And telemarketers

Self-help gurus screwed

In seven languages

Haunted…God

Cruel bastards all!

Pursue, destroy

Defeat, reward, atone

Arouse, take a number

Ponder life

Aboard the porcelain

Throne

Cursed Kirk fetes

The babes – I’m left

With no more than

Telepaths who’ve

Shrewdly refused

My moves before

I’ve moved the muse

Or bade them

Doctor Crusher…yeeesss

My symbiant, let an

Old man’s hands enlighten

Thee, my poppet…flight? How?

My feet are firm on this

Bubble of earth far

From home

I don’t want to think

I’m ready

To jettison diplomacy

And enter heaven

On the arm

Of a green-skinned

Whore…

Computer?

The tattered battlements

Are no more than illusions

Wake me when

The war is over

Make it sew…

Blue Halcyon

Let these dreams come swallow me,

And consume me whole.

For I am shattered and drifting,

Having lost my direction.

Permit these eyes to close and sleep,

In soundless slumber without cries,

Without tears of pain....

Allow my sadness to slip away,

Within the sapphire of crashing fires,

Inanimate in your suspension.

Granting me peace

In your multitude of quiet flames,

Azure dancing within me

Slowly burning me away,

As I slip slowly under

Elysium clouds and turqoise waves.....

As your kiss leaves me cold.
