Suribachi

Stigmata Diabolic

I asked her to walk with me
As I held out my hand
Went down to the beach
Lay upon the sand

An evening so beautiful
Her eyes feral lights
We lay silent and wondering
As we gazed upon the stars

But night once more
It ended
And with the light of the new day
They came to the island
To drive us away

Their righteous fire
Burnt us in our holes
This island of nothing
Swallowed us all

Our black sand beaches
Ran deep with their blood
While here in the mountain
Ours became a flood

I wrote her a letter
One she'll never read
For last night her wounds became too much
Now she lies under black sand

Soon

I'll die in this mountain
Sacred pomegranate clutched to my chest

I'll die in the mountain

Still holding her hand
