Happy Mother's Day

My 11 year-old daughter wrote this Mother's Day rap for me.

You may begin to wrinkle
Your voice may start to crinkle
But that doesn’t madder
That just makes me gladder

You’ll be here for a while
You still have time to smile
You’re still the coolest Mama
And there won’t be any drama

Some people who are 40
Turn into a shorty
You’re only 37
You’re still not up in heaven

To me that’s a good thing
Lets all gather round and sing
Happy Mothers Day to you!

I think the best part of this is the Freudian-ish slip, substituting "madder" for "matter".  We'd have to be, wouldn't we?

I love this, especially the gratitude of you still maintaining earthly form despite your advanced age.  Happy Mother's Day!

Oh, my gosh, what a girl! And what a wonderful Mom you must be! This is a keeper, a framer, a real joy. Thank you for sharing it with us.
