i thought i was free
the other day
to think
maybe marriage is a bad idea

when i said it
the gay guy punched me
in the jaw

i complained
but the cop called me
a sissy
(to be fair
he also told the gay guy
not to hit me in the jaw)

i thought i was free

to say
maybe blacks and whites are
equal

when i said maybe
they shouldn't get my money
because they had
a better tan than me

the black guy sued me
and the judge called me
a bigot
(to be fair,
he didn't put me in jail
for hate crimes)

i thought i was free
the other day
to pray
for radical Islaamic folk
to just chill

when i knelt on the common
the officer arrested me
for indecency
(to be fair,
i was praying to Christ
not Allah
or the atheist God)
