merrymeeting lake

the deep blue lake was cool and lapping then
the gentle sounds of summer soltice night.
Your kisses filled me time and time again
and taught me lessons of passion and delight.

The blazing sun was setting kind and red
and lavender skies were pressing dark blue.
I still remember every secret said,
and every passing timber shade and hue.

The silent stars came out and loved us both
and the blackest ravens went soon to sleep.
The perfect moon was full and lovely dear
no words could fit so we began to weep.

So we began to weep beside the lake so blue,
under stars and heaven we found our love was true.
