Leanne:gay, yes, but really true, no joke!
Your name, in particular, came up each time one of us monkeys read on Sunday, as in "Leanne edited this one too." Damnit, woman, you have your fabulous fingers in everything here!
(look at me letting those f-words fly. )
This weekend was freaking awesome.

I had the best time ever! I realized I have my work cut out for me as a writer! It was very exhilarating to be in the presence of so many artists. I LOVED meeting everyone... you were all so loving and wonderful. I am sorry Leanne and many others missed it! There will be more I am sure... I think I can talk the Mayor of Lowell into hosting the 2nd Annual Massachusetts Poetry Festival!
I will post a few pictures on my Member page!!

Stephan,
You sum it up so very well. I think this was the experience of poetry and connection as they are meant to be, if that makes sense. It was life changing, mind expanding, heartening... An inspirational call to poetic arms and to the honeyed milk of humanity of which we are so fortunate to drink because of the words that brought us together.
I remain utterly wow'd and humbled.
And yes, we missed ALL who weren't with us in body like crazy.

Monkeys in our midst
See that photo?
The one
with all the monkeys
in a row?
See where the line
breaks, the spaces
between me
and our mates?
You were there,
In the warmth
of my extended arms
right next
to my heart.
Soppy, but sincere.

I only came for the free booze. Really.
The festival was such a humbling experience. Finally, I felt like I fit in. It was just so great to see everyone as they are, normal people who write exceptional poetry. Everyone else was so greatly missed. I hope all of you can come out next year. I'm actually quite depressed today that I won't be driving into to Lowell to see everyone here. :(

Good lord, you are SO gay.
Glad to hear you all had a great time, and even gladder to hear that you talked about me with a minimum of f words (you did, didn't you?) Much love to the monkey crew.
