More in The constant need to pee

Discuss: The constant need to pee

My belly grows
Rests on percale, propped
Rows upon rows of pillows

With my growing love
And kung fu feet
Tiny fists beat my bladder

While you smile at me
Your hand rests
Just beneath my breasts

Already protective
A new life burgeoning
Rife with great expectations

I've really missed your writing. The irrevrent title, the blugeoning use of kung-fu... and the female body parts. Very you. And well done. And, I suspect congratulations.

We've all missed you. Well.. not all. Obviously Tracey hates you. And Julie too. And Derma and Leanne can't stand you. BUT, I have missed you. It's my thing. I use the royal we. Wee wee wee.. all the way poem.

Ahem. Speak for yourself, Sir Anstey. Actually, up until your everyone-hates -Shan-rant you did speak quite perfectly for moi. More of this please, sweet mama. And love to you and your brood.

To be more serious, this writing shows some serious growth Shan. It's a very nice move upward and onward. I really like it, the lines that nailed it for me are S1 L2,L3 -- this is the delicate setup that contrasts S2, then in S3, you go back to the more earthy delicate.. and instead of going for an expected punch line, you offer something touching, human and honest. All of this is neatly framed with a title that adds a context of good humor, which, I think increases the impact of the soft landing. I find this to be pretty mature writing. I enjoyed it a lot.

This a very simple and fully realized moment that is both hushed and powerful, not necessarily for what is said, but for what is implied. Very nice write.
