Wow! Not a poem, but a nice 'snapshot write'. I especially liked, "too small minded to see over their own life's steering wheel".
Spelling nit: It's "whittle".
As for the last sentence, that's the smell of eating s--- once again - monkey or otherwise I don't actually know. As I recall, that kind of, "It has to be done by ___" is what got me terminated from my final long-term job. (Actually, it was my response to that bit of information.)
