Aotearoa

Well... I was going to say that the Icarus myth is bordering on overuse in poetry but I guess it's not as well known as I thought   And since Aotearoa is on every second bloody bumper sticker here on the Gold Coast I've no excuse not to know that one.

My reading is ambition, perhaps a job offer that was too good to turn down, even for love (if such it was) -- although you have "love at first sight" so I actually thought you might be talking about the land itself rather than a woman, or maybe the two are inseparable.  Anyway, not a bad little poem.
