Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now?

I looked at this poem because the title got that old Clash song going through my head.  The poem itself does little for me though.  Dark confessional poetry really needs a certain amount of wit to redeem itself, or at least to escape the overwhelming sense of self-consciousness that splashes itself all over the words.  The violent imagery feels far more self-absorbed than genuine.  I don't know.  How many of these poems are you going to be posting?  I've really got to start looking through your current stuff and see what you developed into as a poet.  This one is awfully juvenile, though I can at least relate to the theme a little bit.
