The title sounds like the American Consumer: “I want, therefore I am.” Is an “optometrist” one who measures your wants? If so, it’s 36-27-34.
This is one of the best of the collection. It tells a story in a staged manner – building its structure step by step, carefully laying out its train of events to convey the messages. I use the plural, because you have said very much very efficiently: “Sound of smoke in her baritone voice”; “black of the clock hands”. I assume the single "flower" was intentional. If not, I hope you leave it. It works. In fact, the whole write works very well.
