The Lilac Thief

This is an intensely beautiful love lyric. I admire the quiet economy and intimacy of tone. The repetition of "you" is very effective though I wonder at the use of the comma after each "you" and at the end of certain lines.

It is wonderfully sensuous - sight, smell, touch. The use of metaphor is subtle, shaping the images almost subliminally.

Although the theme is a poetic standard - it sounds fresh and original; and the emotional sincerity at its heart is shaped with a deft stroke. BRgds.,Alan.
