Hey, what's that little "i" doing in your poem? I hate those. Sorry. I think they're icky and "Hey, pass this note to Brenda for me, Justin"....But I'm sure you have your reasons. It's okay to shop at the Big and Tall shop. Personally, I find slim men unattractive. I'll take some belly any day of the week- especially over some six pack abs narcissist. Yuck. Brad Pitt? Angie big lips can keep him. Now about your poem. The funny thing about pregnancy is that it's the ONLY time a woman can gain weight, take up more space, brag about how big she's getting, etc. and everyone approves. In my opinion, it is harder for a woman to be heavy than a man. A man can be "stocky", "hefty', a "big guy", "huge"- all kinds of things that mean big but aren't necessarily demeaning. The best a woman can hope for is "big boned" or "chubby". After that, it gets very ugly. I know, because I gained a considerable amount of weight AFTER the birth of my children. I was quite heavy and it shocked me the way I was treated. I had been an attractive person prior to the fat. After the fat, men dropped doors in my face, looked me up and down with open disgust and other experiences that I imagine woomen of size must live with every day. I don't know what it's like for you guys. But unless you are enormous, I would think being big isn't that much of a hindrance to you in the world of romance, etc. Anyways, sorry to go off on a tangent here. I do like your poem and the way you juxtapose her feelings about "the belly" and your feelings about yours....Catherine
